Lyon resident scratches the €500,000 top prize on Cash Scratch
Thomas* has been playing instant games for years: a couple of tickets on the way to work is his little morning ritual. On Friday 26 September, that ritual ended with the Cash Scratch top prize of €500,000.
A morning that began with the top prize
As usual, Thomas bought three Cash Scratch tickets and scratched them one by one while his coffee cooled. On the third ticket, number 17 matched one of the winning numbers — and the amount underneath looked like a typo at first.
He checked the ticket three times, then once more in his CashPot account. No mistake.
At first I just sat there staring at the screen. Then I called my wife and said: “Please, sit down.”
Plans: no rush
The family decided not to rush into big purchases. First, pay off the mortgage — then take the whole family on the trip the kids have been dreaming about.
